Goodbye To Yesterday

Goodbye to yesterday’s scheduled partners,

Goodbye to the souls turning on the road naked and blind with no place to go,

Goodbye to the weakness that hides behind silent doors,

Goodbye to the crossroads where we all lost time,

Hello to the memories floating off the top of past empty decks,

Hello to the empty truth that comes to us for today; we can breathe,

Hello to saying goodbye to fearing what is and what isn’t,

Hello to the tears that fall like pedals from the softest rose,

Tears that touch the sky before we can die,

Hello to the empty bottles we filled with empty thirst,

A thirst that brings us back to our dreams,

Dreams that bring us back to what we forgot,

Only when you forget,

Is when we can drink the light that can make us shine so bright,

Now is when we feel again,

Now is when we drive our spirits to grow,

Grow from our feared partners with a hidden truth,

Grow from the hidden truth that makes us forget why we said goodbye,

Goodbye to the last day we cried!
